It challenged me in ways I did not anticipate. For him, intercession was not an optional isolated activity, but rather the result of following the intercesdor Christ.

While God has the power to do that, it is agaist his nature. But really, God did. One good quote from the book: This is possibly a reflection of the theology when the book was written the early 50s and the author intercessot rather than the events of the day or God’s heart itself.

Rees Howells: Intercessor

The book is packed away in storage with most of our other Library books so I am very excited to be able to download the book and to do it free is a bonus too. I learned about what a true Intercessor looks like- someone who chooses out of love to suffer alongside those who are suffering in order to pray for them and to gain victory for the kingdom of God.

I come from Chimanimani in Zimbabwe where Rees had this great encounter. Some of the theology seems unsound — not biblically based. Early in his journey of faith, he understood the significant impact, both personal and social, of a prayer filled life.

You had better take your place in the intercsssor. So much can be learned from this book on how God molds people and uses them for His Glory!

I walked away from reading this book having gained insight and wisdom. Bounds, it contains some of the most inspiring thoughts on prayer I’ve ever read. I thank God for the intercessors throughout the world. And is it okay to pray for something to stop affecting us even if it means other people, in this case Africa and Russian rather than Britain, suffer?
