Cineka not everyday you find a thorough, well-written book on any filmmaker, especially not divisive cult-horror directors, so these books are a rare treat. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
At first I thought I would write a magazine article about it or something, but it quickly expanded into something much bigger. This third pressing ofAgitator features a new and expanded page colour section, completely updated DVD information and several brand new reviews of Miike films that were unavailable for review at the time of the book’s initial production. I appreciate Tom Mes’ takahsi.

But no matter what genre, unpredictable madness permeates most of them, which is not a bad thing in an era of overly cautious and formulaic films which treat the audience like an idiot. Still, it’s clear that Mes is passionate about Miike’s films, and this is still an invaluable resource.
Takazhi film is set at the end of the sixties and portrays a couple of months in the life a year-old boy, without all the phoney rites-of-passage bullshit.

Seeing that film with no preconceptions about what it was or who its director was, was an incredibly invigorating experience. He also has a background in animation as a scriptwriter and storyboard artist. But still the most in-depth and thorough look at Takashi Miike and his films that you will find anywhere, well worth the money if you are a fan!
