I have heard from others that these books get better with each one and I agree. I was surprised about not seeing more of Nick Kavs in the story kqva what we had in the previous books and I don’t understand what is taking so long for her divorce to be final. Other books in the series. The case hits particularly close to both partners homes, since Maggies former alcoholic mother has joined Everetts church and Tullys daughter was with the senators daughter on the night hte was killed.
Siul idea of I have heard from others that these books get better with each one and I agree. Plot and characterizations are well done and the pace is good. Alex Kava’s writing is just so amazing and her stories so thrilling, they take over your brain completely in till you’re on the edge of your seat ready for the next twist and turn to come.

I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the Alex Kava novels I’ve read, but only because I figured out alsx did what about half way through the book.
I felt like asking the writer, did you think to maybe vary this with an occasional “Oh My God” or “Good heavens”. I’m hoping Maggie will become a better FBI agent. The story was simple yet complex and there were times I was confused and a bit disappointed, I did not quite like the ending, it was unexpected yes, but also did not deliver the satisfaction of having caught the guy.

I found this story to be stronger than the first two, even though it continues to belabor Maggie’s personal issues. The only reason I gave this a 4 star and not a 5, is I figured out who did it long before O’Dell, who was very distracted by her mother issues, but still as a profiler for the FBI, she should have seen this a lot sooner than she did.
