The disadvantage of that approach is that one must rely on unmodified originals, so no photoshopping to reduce saturation, increase contrast, arrowya, sharpness etc!

However, we could use any generic, arbitrary dummy texture following the same naming convention as the original Arroway files and then be replace these with the originals. I do not have a very powerful PC I guess I still feel it too.

Arroway textures are great and plenty of resolution, another good source is https: The fact that these are so low res would likely require different settings anyway to make these useable. Most of the materials in the online DB are user contributions. However, I cannot freely share some of my materials as they include purchased textures that I am legally not at arroday to share.

That, for example is the case with the textures from GCTextures. This is why I am doing it,for this,for knowing I helped some one. Gonna dowload them from work.
Just make sure they are the correct size before you save the files, otherwise they will be enormous depending on how they were saved themselves.
