Yes, canned humor and some OK. She got some of the terms way wrong. I could not finish it!!

I keep reading because I’m hooked on the great characters like, grandma Mazur and Lula and Ranger. Surprised, Loretta explains that she never slept with Morelli as a teenager, and that Mario’s father was a classmate who died in a freak accident the day after he got her pregnant. Mooner managed to collect some of the stolen money during the explosion, but gives most of it away. The dialogue that used to be naturally witty seems forced and contrived. I was more then disappointed I was MAD. Morelli sends a lab technician to disable the camera, and when Stephanie talks to him, she recognizes his voice: Stephanie is no longer funny. I will reread the older and much better books in the series if I need a Plum fix.

He always was the smart one. The little quirks that used to make them unique and funny are now taking over their entire persona making them slightly moronic. I got pretty impatient with Stephanie always being called, alternately by the men in her life, “cupcake” and fourteeen.

I barely got through this book. A favor for Ranger Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work.

Stephanie discovers that a camera has been mounted on the house across the street from Morelli’s, which jane how the kidnapper has been aware of events at the house.

It was painful to read those parts.
