For some reason Monica decided to go into writing and not fashion. Jamie saved the book for me. Ebony-haired, ruby-lipped Caitrina Lamont defies him, denies him, and arouses him like no other woman. The review must be at least 50 characters long.

Highland Scoundrel

It’s just that it was not as good as I thought it would be. They suspect Seamus, since he was trying to create a wedge between them but no proof of it surfaces. In this book, this was not a problem as the heroine does not realize she is with the enemy right until the end, lol.

Anyway, she sees Duncan and is extremely attracted to his big physique, raven dark hair and gorgeous sapphire eyes. Caitrina was like a shrew in the first part of the story, but to be fair to her, she did have an excuse: What I loved about being a lawyer are the same things I love about being a writer—research and writing.

I just never connected with the hero or the heroine. This is my first time reading a book by Monica McCarty, and I’m so glad I took the chance on a new author. Yet, I was ready to give her the benefits of doubt.

Somehow this was addressed only in a fight and that was it.

I think the one problem that I had, is that when the truth is revealed, Lizzie has a hard time accepting it. If so, I’ll respect the decision because I’d rather have a villain go unpunished than have a brutal time in history turned into a fluffy-bunny dreamland. This is one of my favorite Historical romances of all time. I wanted to scream, ‘I got it; I knows he’s a hunk, enough already.

Sometimes the journey seemed long and tedious, but as I read, I realized that the author doesn’t put in details that are meaningless. The only thing that was a negative for me and drove me nuts was the heroine Caitrina. Ah, the good old days.
